HOME BUILDER TECH TIPS FROM SOUTHERN WHEELS
"Make it Stick!"
In old style oil canisters, many times the new rubber O-rings won’t stay up in the housing while re-installing the canister. We put a light smear of grease on the O-ring. It stays in place and allows the canister to be tightened down with less risk of tearing the O-ring. Remember–tighten the canister nut while holding the canister. NEVER spin the canister on!
